Randall Higashida, M.D. is Clinical Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, Neurological Surgery, Neurology, and Anesthesiology at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center. He is Chief of the Division of Interventional Neurovascular Radiology, one of the leading institutions specializing in the minimally invasive treatment of complex cerebrovascular diseases and stroke. Dr. Higashida has published over 310 scientific articles on stroke and cerebrovascular diseases and authored over 110 book chapters and 4 textbooks. His articles have appeared in Stroke, American Journal of Neuroradiology, Journal of Neurosurgery, Journal of Endovascular Surgery, Lancet, Neurology, the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery, and the Journal of the American Medical Association. He is on 10 scientific editorial boards and serves as a manuscript reviewer for 9 additional journals. He has presented at over 750 scientific and professional meetings around the world. Dr. Higashida has served as a member of numerous medical and scientific committees including the Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery Task Force Committee, the American Heart Association Stroke Council Research Committee, the American Society of Neuroradiology Executive Committee, and the Society of Neuro Interventional Surgery Executive Committee. He is past President of the Society of Neuro Interventional Surgery, past chairman of the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Radiology & Interventions, a past member of the U.S. FDA Neurological Devices Advisory Panel, and was on the oversight committee of the National Institutes of Health trial for carotid artery stenting. Dr. Higashida earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and did his residency and fellowship training at UCLA Medical Center, in Los Angeles, California.

My Neurosurgical training in Ireland and England (1979-1987 and 1991-1992) involved working in prestigious teaching hospitals like Cork Regional Hospital, Cork, National Hospital for Nervous Disease, London, Nottingham University Hospital and Frenchay Hospital, Bristol. Subsequently I did a Spine Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital, London (1995-1996). Elixena López Savón, was born on August 14, 1982 in Guantánamo Province, Cuba, as a child she had a vocation for medicine and always dreamed of being a neurosurgeon, She comes from a family of doctors, Her mother is a general practitioner and specialist in Microbiology, her sister is a gynecologist and fertility specialist. She graduated as a doctor in June 2006, working in primary care in rural areas of Cuba, in 2008 She graduated as a specialist general practitioner, and also attended a medical emergency in that same year, after two years, from 2009 to 2011 in Bolivia as intensivist doctor in the town of Villa Tunari, as part of a medical collaboration agreement between Cuba and the Bolivian government. Later She received a Master's degree in Emergency and Medical Emergencies and She started the specialty of Neurosurgery, the surgical branch of which she graduated in 2015, after four years and means of studies, with good teaching and care results at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN) of Havana. Dr. Rajendra D. Badgaiyan, MD, is a psychiatrist and cognitive neuroscientist. He is Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Richmond University Medical Center, and Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. He received formal training in psychiatry, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, molecular imaging and neuroimaging. He was awarded the prestigious BK Anand National Research Prize in India and Solomon Award of Harvard Medical School. His research is focused on the study of neural and neurochemical mechanisms that control human brain functions. He developed the single scan dynamic molecular imaging technique (SDMIT) to detect, map, and measure neurotransmitters released acutely in the human brain during task performance. This technique is now used in laboratories all over the world. Using this technique, he studies dopaminergic control of human cognition and behavior. He is also interested in learning the nature of dysregulated dopamine neurotransmission in psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions. His research is funded by NIMH, NINDS, VA, and various foundations. Previously he served in the faculty of Harvard Medical School, SUNY Buffalo and University of Minnesota. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.

He is also interested in learning the nature of dysregulated dopamine neurotransmission in psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions
